The Social Committee of the Swedish Club
Since the club was founded there has always been a lively social committee. The present Director is Henrik Lundsted. It is Henrik together with the board that arranges different kinds of celebrations and festivities for the members of the Swedish Club.
Midsummer fest
Our yearly Midsummer celebration is the biggest and the most popular event that the Social Committee arranges. The occasion takes place around 24th of June and following the Swedish traditions. We make a big May pole, and do traditional dances around it. Great fun! Every one brings something to the traditional Swedish foodtable, like coffee, drinks (Swedish: saft), Swedish cinnamon buns, candy, and traditional strawberry cakes.
Pub night
Our Swedish pub nights are popular and are well-attended by new and old members. It is a great opportunity to talk Swedish. Always on the second Thursday of every month starts at 7 PM at 3 Brewers on Bank. Ask the serving staff which table has been reserved for the Swedish Club.
Group 55+
Every month there is a Swedish coffee party (Swedish: kafferep) for the members that are a little bit older. It is hosted by one member where we have coffee and Swedish pastry. We talk Swedish and discuss Swedish literature, movies, news and other things linked to Sweden.
Your own ideas about events Swedish style are always welcome! Please contact partygroup: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
