Kom gärna till vår pubkväll - den andra torsdagen i varje månad.
Vi börjar kl 19, men du kan titta in senare också. (titta runt efter en svensk flagga eller fråga serveringspersonalen vilket bord som är reserverat för "the Swedish Club")

Pubkvällarna ger dig möjlighet att träffa andra medlemmar för att prata om Sverige och Kanada, ha trevligt och få prata lite svenska. 

Vi är öppen till förslag på var vi ska mötas i framtiden men Torsdagen den 12 December 2024 och framåt så möts vi på

This is the Swedish Club in Ottawa!

The main purpose of "Svenska Klubben i Ottawa - The Swedish Club in Ottawa" is to support the supplementary education in the Swedish language, traditions and culture for children aged 4-14 living in the Ottawa area. Every Saturday morning during the school year the students attend half-day sessions at Hopewell Elementary School situated in Old Ottawa South.

We also want to support Swedish traditions and culture for all our members, children and adults alike, by celebrating important events in the Swedish calendar, such as

  • Easter in March/April by doing Easter decorations with the students in the Swedish school.
  • Midsummer with an outdoor party on or around June 24 for young and old members.
  • Lucia on or around December 13 .
  • Christmas celebrations in December by doing Swedish Christmas decorations with the students in the Swedish school.
 

 Our Event Committee organizes regular social activities as:

  • monthly pub nights which gives an opportunity to the members to speak Swedish.
  • a Swedish coffee party for our senior members each month, called Grupp 55+.
 

"Svenska Klubben i Ottawa - "Swedish Club in Ottawa" was formed at an open meeting on December 2, 2008.

A group of members, women and men meet from the Swedish Club once a month - to speak Swedish, drink coffee and have a nice time together. Most have reached the mature age of 55+, but younger are also welcome.

The following format applies until further notice:

- The next date is determined at the end of each meeting
- The time is always at. 13:30 to 15:30
- We meet with each other, ie the location varies from time to time
- We are happy to talk about things related to Sweden and all Swedish
- Everyone is invited to contribute with any topic, but are welcome without
- We welcome recommendations from Swedish books or articles
- please take a book or a Swedish DVD you are willing to borrow
